We will hear and say ‘Happy New Year’ frequently at the moment of year – but rarely do we consider what it really means to us, and also the individuals to whom we say it.
Many of us are unique people who have our very own unique needs and desires; and the majority of us are united within our quest for the very same thing – to feel Happy New Year 2020 Quotes. We are all striving for this particular state of ‘happiness’; and yet so many people are looking inside the wrong location for it – and settling for any temporary mood-enhancer in the form of alcohol, drugs, a new relationship, or new possessions.
Magazines are now packed with ‘New Year New You’ advice from so-called experts – the majority of that is just plain common sense! No one else will be the expert upon you! Only you know – or are attempting to pin-down – what brings you personal happiness. One person’s happiness is yet another person’s burden.
Should you now consider what actually brings people happiness it might range from finding shelter and food; to owning a make-over/fake-tan/fake-nails etc., buying new ‘toys/gadgets’, right right through to showing love, care and compassion to others. As broad a spectrum as is noticed in general society.
Happiness for you will depend upon your own level of personal and spiritual awareness, along with your capability to create happiness being a state of mind that you can come back to at will – despite life’s relentless disappointments and challenges.
It is really not enough to merely ‘think’ or ‘imagine’ yourself to be happy – you can’t fool yourself that easily!
What many of us don’t realise is the fact that we have now two mind-sets about everything in life, and these two minds can be at odds with each other. This conflict can are the amounts of happiness we are ‘allowed’ to experience.
Our conscious/rational/observing mind can desire and seek greater happiness; however, if our sub-conscious mind doesn’t believe that we deserve it, or we would reap the benefits of it – it just isn’t planning to come our way. Our outer lives are just ever a reflection of our own inner and deeper sub-conscious belief system. Self-help books and talking therapies tend not to access or change these deeper ‘Script’ beliefs.
Being around happy, optimistic, warm and friendly people positively affects us too – along with the exact opposite. This is referred to as ‘Emotional Contagion’ – and it is worth reflecting upon what ‘mood’ or ‘energy’ we ourselves give out that subsequently affects those around us.
We have now neurons in our brains called Mirror Neurons which can create in us the emotion we are witnessing outside us. As an example if we see someone stub their toe or trap their finger, we are instinctively designed to feel something similar. This connection goes past mere ’empathy’, or of recalling personal memories of similar things having happened to us before. We have been significantly afflicted with being around Merry Christmas Wishes, whose emotions then we ‘mirror’ in ourselves.
Don’t however be fooled with a ‘happy mask’ that somebody may be wearing; that will be a false-self they present to the world as being an attempt to hide their real feelings and desires. This may well have been set up in childhood if it was encouraged and expected which they ‘put-on-a-happy face’ for that family’s sake; and also to stuff down their real feelings such as anger, resentment, disappointment, fear, sadness and despair – which had been real, but ‘unacceptable’ from the family/care-giver.
Many people are so used to wearing a mask which they cannot imagine an existence without it, or how to get it away! Their eyes will usually give the game away regarding their underlying feelings, as will an unguarded moment and comment, if someone else is sensitive enough to notice these ‘slips’.
All of us have a ‘base-line’ level of happiness at virtually any stage within our lives – which can be formed from the past experiences and the meaning we gave to them; and naturally the results these have had upon our sub-conscious mind and the ‘program’ we are running.
This base-line represents only 40% in the full level of happiness we are designed for experiencing at the present time. Another 10% can come from the external ‘lucky’ events such as the lottery win; or even a big new purchase; or kkywim cosmetic plastic surgery etc. These ‘highs’ are unfortunately only temporary and that we soon come back to our base level once more.
The particular good news though is the fact that remaining 40% of happiness available to you – comes from YOU! This is scientifically validated and forms a central aspect of Positive Psychology.
You can find 12 means of facilitating more happiness from your own actions and thoughts, and through the releasing your very own blockages. Many of these ways include learning how to create a more optimistic and focused approach to life; to maintain your healthy mind and spirit, and allowing gratitude and forgiveness to you. These sound simple but in fact are profound and life-changing. Improving your overall, and sustained, happiness positively effects every cell within your body and consequently your genetic expression (Epi-genetics); and therefore your lifespan.
Deeper and sustained Happiness equates to a calmness from the mind… observing what is, rather than forcing change… reflecting, surrendering and allowing; instead of worrying, over-thinking and mind-chatter. To see the Happy New Year 2020 Wishes in every tiny moment instead of only focusing in front of the present time; or dwelling inside the unchangeable past.
